This reading is for the month of October 2018 for Virgo sun, moon and rising.
Find Your Resolution
This past full moon in Aries conjunct Chiron on Sept. 24th hit everyone, Virgo. For you, I feel it has brought things to a head and forced you to acknowledge that there is a dark reality that is not going to go away. Yet with the new moon in Libra on Oct. 8th, I felt you are transitioning towards a place of resolution in which you will get the resources you need to know how to act.
The Hexagram (Double Triangle) Spread
The Hexagram Spread forms a circle of two triangles. The first triangle represents the outer ways of being. The second triangle shows what’s really behind this situation.
- The Apparent Situation: Nine of Swords in reverse
- The Point of Tension: Two of Cups
- The Key to Resolution: Princess of Wands
- The Subconscious Situation: Seven of Swords in reverse
- The Pivot of Change: King of Wands in reverse
- The Key to Harmony: Five of Pentacles
There’s a real heartbreaking feeling to this reading, dear Virgo, and for that, I am so sorry. The outward triangle begins with the Nine of Swords in reverse, and I feel that you have gone from the shock of discovering a painful truth, to the stage of depressed acceptance that things are not going to get better.
Then I look at the theme of the reading, which is Childhood/Innocence, and I feel that some of your innocence has been lost in this situation, because someone who you trusted has broken faith with you.
I am going to say that for most Virgos, I feel this relates to a romantic or business relationship, which you can see in the Two of Cups occupying the card position of the point of tension. Really, it could be anything that you have pledged your faith to–a contract with a realtor, or maybe a religious organization or a volunteer group that you were deeply connected to that is starting to turn ugly.
For a smaller number of you, I feel this relates to a family member. You might have known that someone was terminally ill but they seemed to be doing okay, then all of a sudden they took a terrible turn for the worse, and reality hit you in the face.
Sometimes this can feel like a betrayal, and we want to cry, “How dare you leave me?” even though we know rationally that this is not the case. But it’s as if we become children again in our grief, wanting to kick and scream at the unfairness of pain.
You are in a major transition right now.
Whatever your situation, it is heavy, and you are transitioning to a new level right now, which is exhausting. I bless you in this, dear Virgo, because moments in life like these are so, so hard sometimes. I know it.
The theme of Childhood/Innocence is about entering into things for the right reasons–doing things with the blind faith that children have in the goodness and justice of others. When terrible things happen, it can shatter that blind faith.
What we then must learn to replace it with is what I call tested faith. It’s not blind because it’s seen some sh*t. Instead, it’s faith that has been tested, and despite the darkness it’s witnessed, has decided to put all bets on the divine spark of goodness that rests in stasis in all of us, ready to get out and make good in the world if we let it.
There is a divine spark of goodness that rests in stasis in all of us, ready to get out.
Innocence circles this situation in more ways than one. Whatever you are going through, you must not let it make you jaded, dark, bitter and pessimistic–in the long run. It’s okay to go through each and every one of these feelings in the moment because you are processing your pain. But you can’t stay there. You won’t survive or thrive that way.
The good news is that I see you making plans to strike out on a new path, shown in the Princess of Wands setting a fiery new course while she sits in the position of the key to resolution. You are going to need this positive fire energy, Virgo, because you still have work to do before you can move on from your present situation. Believe it or not, I see your struggle and your salvation in the Five of Pentacles, which I will get to in a moment.
The Seven of Swords in reverse occupies the beginning of the inward triangle, pointing to the subconscious situation going on. In the past you had tried to make things right by planning and strategizing on your own, but you were only one against a large obstacle. Now, I feel you recognizing that you need to ask for help…and that is okay.
I don’t think you like asking for help, do you, Virgo? The King of Wands appears in reverse in the position of the pivot of change. Upright, he is forthright and honest but also independent and impatient. Reversed, it’s not as easy as he thought to make it all happen. Maybe there’s someone or some service he could turn to for advice, or insight…or even real help.
Together with the Seven of Swords in reverse, I can see that asking for help in anything eats away at you. Virgo, there is nothing wrong in not being able to do ALL of it on your own. Do you really think anybody does? They’re lying. (Especially Gemini–there are two of them, for a start.)
The reading ends with Five of Pentacles. In the position of the key to harmony, it’s not easy to see how this slightly depressing card could offer anything positive. Yet golden light seems to fill the sky, as if a new dawn is just rising, the warm sun come to dry the woman’s tears.
I told you before that you are in a period of transition. Transition also means transformation. Whatever you feel you are losing, is making room in your life for something new–and I feel that it’s just on the horizon, near that golden dawn, and you just can’t see it right now.
Energy attracts energy, and that is why it’s so important for you to stay grounded, process your pain, and welcome joy back into your life. You are going to welcome that golden dawn in at the pace that is right for you, but believe me, it is coming.
