This reading is for the month of October 2018 for Libra sun, moon and rising.
Decision Time: Walk Away
Happy birthday month, Libras! Your cosmic birthday gift is change but you need to accept it. Decisions are tripping you up right now. But I feel you halfway towards make the decision to move beyond people and situations that do not let you be yourself. That sh*t? Over with. Let’s all give a big AMEN.
Because let’s face it, Libra, it’s about damn time for you to move towards the light, isn’t it? You’ve been in a fog of confusion over what to do but it’s about to become very clear.
The Hexagram (Double Triangle) Spread
The Hexagram Spread forms a circle of two triangles. The first triangle represents the outer ways of being. The second triangle shows what’s really behind this situation.
- The Apparent Situation: Queen of Swords in reverse
- The Point of Tension: Five of Cups
- The Key to Resolution: Three of Wands
- The Subconscious Situation: Four of Swords in Reverse
- The Pivot of Change: Seven of Wands
- The Key to Harmony: The Sun in reverse
I feel that after this full moon in Aries, you have been experiencing a series of revelations about how you give and receive in all areas of your life. The Queen of Swords in reverse reveals the sadness and confusion you are moving away from. It’s really all been stemming from your need to recognize that you are spending more of your energy on other people’s needs and dreams than on your own.
This full moon asked you: How much do you give to yourself?
The theme behind this reading is the Waterfall card (see the center of the hexagram). Why has everything been SO hard lately?
The answer is that you’re not going with your inner flow and it shows. I feel a central relationship in this reading has been tested and found to not be serving you, but I also feel this strongly relating to your whole sense of self. I see career affected by this, as well as your relationships with friends and family.
You are reevaluating EVERY relationship in your life and suddenly saying “Hey wait, why am I killing myself for this person/job/family dynamic that doesn’t care about me?” And that revelation is so painful at first. That is the Five of Cups, looking sadly out at the three spilled cups, and the fish who got away from the otter.
But look again. Maybe you are the fish and not the otter, escaping from something that didn’t make your soul’s needs a priority. Look behind the hooded figure and two cups are still standing, full to the brim. There’s something better waiting for you.
How do you overcome this revelation? The key is in the third card: The Three of Wands. Threes represent wholeness–mind, body, spirit–and in the suit of Wands, our drives, ambitions and potential. You came here with a mission and you’re clearing away everything else that stands in the way of it. Once that stuff is gone, it’s all going flow like that powerful waterfall.
This is like the part of the movie where the main character gets dumped/fired and then has a makeover montage scene set to some pop song. The three of Fire wants you to recognize that you got it going on, Libra. All these people you have to turn your back on? Just a necessary step to give you the time and space to start filling your environment with your own energetic potential. It’s not a void. It’s room for YOU.
Fill the void with YOUR fire–not someone else’s.
Let’s look at the second, inverse triangle. This is where we can look beyond the surface level. With the Four of Swords in reverse, I feel that you’ve retreated from the world to recover. Now you’re ready to get back out there but you’re not sure how to. With the Seven of Wands in reverse forming the next card, I feel you so overwhelmed by these perceived obstacles to getting what you want.
Libra, obstacles are only an illusion. I SWEAR this is true. Yes, some of them may stall you for a time–but they can’t stop you forever. They are only there as an opportunity for you to use that Three of Wands energy and burn that sh*t to the ground that stands in your way. Representing the pivot of change, the Seven in reverse is simply reminding you that you can flip that card upright and get the vantage point over others.
How do you do it? Go back to the Waterfall card and absorb that lesson: Effortless. You do you, Libra. Not what your colleagues or boss say you should do or be, and not what your gross ex says, or your critical family member or whatever.
But let me tell you something. Expect to be met with criticism when you start shrugging off other people’s expectations. When others see they can’t control you…oh how they will NOT like it! It’s so amusing. Will you even care at that point? No way. When the Seven of Wands is upright, that guy couldn’t give a hoot about the petty little gremlins trying to storm his castle walls. Look at them, barely able to get their heads over the edge of that wall. Their criticism of you is going to feel as significant as ants on the sidewalk. Hee hee.
You do YOU. Not what someone else says goes.
We end with the Sun in reverse in the card position of the key to harmony. With this reversal, I think these changes are going to take some time to manifest because you’re first having to accept inside that you are this new person with needs that are not being met. But look at that golden child with the radiant halo-that’s you wanting to get out and let your light shine!
As you start to make little changes in your attitude, you’re going to be surprised by how many things suddenly seem “effortless” in a way they weren’t before. People are going to notice that there’s something about you that looks and sounds different, too, dear Libra. Those little rays of sunshine are going to start to peek through and damn, are people going to be attracted to it.
With this Sun in reverse I feel more breakthroughs are still to come for you, and it’s so exciting! I can’t wait to see where this path leads because Libra is going to change this freaking world in ways we can’t even imagine.
