Channeled card: Queen of Wands
Last week we were immersed in the energy of the King of Wands, and this week we enter into the guidance of his Queen.
The King of Wands demanded that we begin to put our plans into action. Many of us were excited by his newfound enthusiasm and eagerly began organizing our sock drawers. Then a week passed and…yeah. Why isn’t everything different yet?
More intuitive than her husband, the Queen of Wands says: Things are different—have you even noticed?
Like all Queens of the Tarot, the Queen of Wands represents the receptivity of the Wands (or fire) suit. The highest feminine principle of fire, the Queen represents our awareness of fire’s purpose, our willingness to be open to how it wants to manifest, and our commitment to nurturing its manifestation. The Queen is open-minded, deeply aware, and embracing of the fertile potential of fire energy.
Wands/fire energy is about our drive, ambition and passion. Spirit says: What really lights you up?
Change really begins to happen in the heart. Only then is it followed up by change in the physical world. Often it’s in the form of everyday minutiae that we ignore or dismiss. (Woo hoo, you got yourself to eat salad today.) It’s this internal change, however, that is really the secret magic that makes miracles.
For all his drive, the King of Wands is, like the Aries sign he represents, just a tad impatient. What he wants, he wants now. The Queen of Wands is fractionally less so, only because her awareness is much greater.
Her inner calm helps guide the fire principle towards a hyperawareness of change so that we can nurture it and stay motivated. These changes are like tiny flames that have yet to grow into roaring fires but have so far that they could go. The Queen says: Look! Things are already heating up. Stay the course.
This Queen of Fire awakens passion through her awareness of these tiny flames. We need to start noticing the flames we’ve ignited, too, so that we can nurture them and watch them grow.
